Bio: Maria began her work with the Office of Equity and Diversity in December 2015, and before that served as a Retention Counselor for the Office of Multicultural Student Services at WSU. Past work experience includes work in several capacities at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee with Milwaukee Public Radio, the Department of Criminal Justice and in the Office of Financial Aid. Additional management experience includes being an Interim Executive Director for a charter school, managing all facets of a mid-size church including a capital campaign, and overseeing budgets that ranged from $20,000 up to $1.5M. Maria was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, fortified in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and currently lives in Pullman, Washington. She has a M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is married to Brian A. Dixon, who serves at the Assistant Vice-President of Student Financial Services at Washington State University. They have three children; Nathanial, Marquelle and Melisenda.
